movie review nightmare on elm st. remake.
first off lemme asy this is the first time i noticed how cheap made for netflix dvds are getting. like seriously this dvd didnt even have a scene selection "button" on the main menue. and the begining had like 15 mins of previews and ads. weak netflix.... any way this movie was one of my favs growing up. this remake stayed true to the first film. which was good. but i hated the new freddy... his face/mask they used was realistic in a way of what an actual burn victum would look like. with not much facail structure, no nose, no lips, etc . i just didnt like the way it looked, not scary or gross or even cheesey. like tryin too hard lame. and his over too obviously-over-debbed-recorded in a sound stduio- forced- dark knight'ish- monster voice. it bothered me. and his dialoge. yeah they tried to keep the freddy jokes in tact and even used some of ther original freddy dialoge, but it was kinda ovwer the top. and not in a good way like the original.... and they made freddy look like even more of a creepy child molester than in the previous series of elm st's.... creepy. i hated the cgi scenes like the recrreation of the wall buldging scene. i hated it. also ive never seen anyone in this film before. they coulda at least threw in traci lords or some other bmovie olddy. the main dude in the movie looked like a twilight extra and the new nacy was a weird emoish sad girl. lame. the coolest part is the ending. when they left an open ending. not too bad but nuthig compaired to the original. however it's better than most of the other "horror" movies coming out nowa days. p.s. the opening sequence looked like some left over korn music video photage. hahahaha 3.5 outta 5.
