movie review alvin and the chipmunks

first off, yeah i know ive been slacking off on the movie reviews lately, in fact ive had avatar rented out from netflix for like 3 mnths...so what im concentrating on making the most badass hiphop album the WI. fox valley has ever seen "so back off!"-in a billy madison voice.... but i did get a chance to watch the first c.g.i. alvin and the chipmunks movie... on basic cable. as a kid i grew up watching the 80's cartoons of a.a.t.c. but was never a huge fan... my mom used to (over) play the old 1950's (?) records of them and i enjoyed those far more than the cartoon. ..... also i have a one and a half year old lil princess who happens to be a picky t.v. viewer... and once she saw the chipmunks running around she was glued. for the whole movie even, and thats rare....so i watched it thinkin at first that jason lee (im a huge fan) would make me feel embarrased for him.... but nope it's actually funny. and david cross is super funny in it as well. jane lych (whom im pissed at for being on glee and selling out) is in it for a lil bit too. and justin long is the voice of alvin!? wtf..... some pretty good people in it.... they were all funny without being to "adult" for lil children or being to "childish" for the adults. there were a couple groan inducung parts..1. alvin says "yippie ki a mamma cita" ----a play on the famous line from die hard (second movie in a row this line was used in)... and 2. the "alllllllviiiiiiiiiiiin!" jason lee had to do- because that was one of the classic chipmunk catch phrases..... hearing him do it was like hearing someone mimicing the tarzan yell... like it's never gunna sound the same. ever. so dont try to reproduce it . you just look like an ass..... 4 outta 5
